Bella Vita Ranch was established in 2003 with the goal of raising superior huacaya and suri alpacas and Maremma Italian Livestock Guardian dogs. We already had Arabian horses gracing the 40-acre property, so the addition of alpacas and the majestic Maremma made life all that much more beautiful, thus the name Bella Vita, Italian for beautiful life. Our goals of producing conformationally correct alpacas with elite fleece characteristics were realized with the addition of 2 stellar huacaya herdsires to our ranch, Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold, whom we were fortunate enough to purchase, and our own bred and raised El Corazon di Bella VIta. Our vision has been rewarded with multiple championships won through both lines of these herdsires. Our suri herd also has notable bloodlines, and while the huacayas have been stealing the thunder the past couple of years, we have similar plans to focus our suri program much as we have the huacayas. We are full time alpaca ranchers, Chuck retiring in 2005, and I using my registered nursing background running a home-based medical transcription business. This works to ours and our clients' advantage since we are here the majority of the time doing full-time, hands-on care of the animals entrusted to us. We are also very proud to promote luxurious alpaca fiber end products through our physical retail store in downtown Castle Rock, CO. We hope you enjoy reviewing our animals and breeding program and look forward to the possibility of helping you add something beautiful to your life from Bella Vita Ranch.
